The curriculum of fashion designing course is not specific while it varies from institute to institute. But broadly it is divided into 1,2 and 3 year programs. Take a look to understand it better.
The first year is considered as the foundation year of the course. It mostly consists of the introduction of the fashion industry to get the students acquainted with the industry structure. Various elements in the design, such as garments, textures, colours, patterns are taught in a theoretical way. Understanding the textile and pattern making is the base of the fashion design career. The third year of a bachelor's degree in fashion design consists of industrial garment production, merchandising quality controlling, marketing and product costing. By third year students start to get hands-on experience and can easily convert their idea to a finished product.
